Working on a message for Jeff and Taylor’s wedding this Saturday, I was reminded from 1 Corinthians 13:12 that my perspective is woefully limited.
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
The next few days in our little journey toward home ownership will be interesting, to say the least. Our closing date has been extended to this Friday so here is how we’re asking the Lord to intervene:
…move the paperwork to the underwriter and back to the mortgage company in a timely manner.
…allow us to close on Wednesday or Thursday in time to travel to Texas via air or car as a family.
…give us wisdom concerning how much school the girls should miss…and provide the girls the drive/ability to get their work done while in Texas.
…teach us to trust that the Lord’s plan is absolutely perfect and He knows exactly what our crew needs…and when.
…provide us the grace/patience should His plan and ours differ.
…believe, claim, and apply Paul’s challenge in Philippians 4:4-7.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
While you’re praying, please remember my sister Kristy and husband Scott who are in New York to attend the funeral of Scott’s mother and our friends Paul and Stacey McKee who are seeking the Lord’s help as they bring their new children home from Ethiopia.
Have a GREAT week!
